The "Manhattan-ization" of Las Vegas is in full swing. As land becomes more scarce and more expensive to purchase, local developers are taking us up--instead of out. There are several High-Rise and Mid-Rise projects being developed along with the "Condo-Hotel" themed projects. Prices continue to escalate as the greater Las Vegas area reaches its perimeters. If you were flying over the city, you may think, "But it's all desert, just keep building," however that's not possible. Surrounding Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Henderson is land owned by the government, or the Bureau of Land Management (BLM.) The Las Vegas valley starts to look like an island out in the middle of nowhere, spreading to the foothills in the sea of sand and brush. Even if the land was auctioned to developers, much of the terrain is unbuildable. With the continuation of people relocating to the Las Vegas area, the High Rise concept is the next solution to our housing needs. |
